形態特徵

Plants twining. Stems terete, young branches finely tomentose, glabrescent.
Leaves opposite; blade broadly ovate, green above, paler beneath, 9–15 cm long, 5.5–11.5 cm broad, apex mucronate or short acuminate, base cordate or truncate, with many glands at base; petioles 3–8 cm long.
Inflorescences umbels of more than 10 flowers; peduncles 1.5 cm long; pedicels 6–8 mm long at anthesis; calyx 5-lobed, lobes broadly ovate, 2 mm long; corolla 5-lobed, lobes ovate, 3–3.5 mm long, slightly longer than tube, glabrous or stiffly pubescent inside, tube hairy in throat; corona 5-lobed, lobes lanceolate, subulate at apex; pollinia oblong; stigma beaked at tip, escerted beyond gynostegium.
Follicles 1 per pedicel, lanceolate, 8–10 cm long, 3.5 cm broad. Seeds flat, ovate, circular winged, 11 mm long, 5 mm broad, comose.
Though Liu et al. (1988) claimed that M. tomentosa occurs in Taiwan, examination of their specimen, Lu & Ou 36683, and the figures presented in their book indicates that the plant is better treated as C. formosana. Their specimen differs in a few characte
